Via San Domenico, 11, 10122 Torino TO, Torino
Opened in 2008 in the historic Palazzo Mazzonis, the MAO Museum of Oriental Art houses one of the most important collections of Asian art in Italy and Europe and aims to be a dynamic space for research, dialogue and participation. As well as showcasing its collections, the MAO promotes a critical and non-Eurocentric perspective on cultural heritage, fostering an ongoing dialogue between artworks, the public and contemporary artists. In line with its role as a civic museum and with ICOM guidelines, the MAO is also a welcoming and inclusive space that actively collaborates with local communities through educational activities, workshops, events and performances, becoming a key hub for cultural dialogue between Turin, Italy and Asia.
