혼돈 HONDON – The Korean Dis-Order

Oct 15 – 25, 2026 · Via Antonio Banfo, 43, 10155 Torino TO, Torino

What is HONDON?

HONDON – The Korean Dis-Order is an exhibition dedicated to the history of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet created in 1443 by King Sejong the Great. One hundred years after Hangeul Day (한글날, 1926), it recounts an act of radical design: a writing system created to bring order to a Korea where Chinese characters excluded the majority of the population from literacy.

The route

A circular exhibition route traces the origins and historical role of Hangeul and demonstrates, through contemporary graphic design works by the Seoul-based studio Lift-OFF, how these characters are now a source of creative disorder.
