What is AFLUENTES? The AFLUENTES exhibition project uses the metaphor of water to explore the contrasts between a here — Colombia, its rivers and its history — and an elsewhere — initially Sicily and the Mediterranean, and, from there, a multitude of places. Through the language of painting and the experience of living in different places, points of convergence and tension are brought to light through acrylic paintings, graphic works and ink drawings. Waters reflect, move, mingle, transform and become living witnesses to the passage of time, brimming with riches and contrasts. Event: TRIBUTARIES OF THE PO June 6–12, 2026 A series of events, exhibitions and collaborative activities accompanying the AFLUENTES project on the River Po, featuring openings, workshops, music and interventions in public spaces. {{accordion: 1. Workshop with Soma — "Cuando el río suena..."}} "Cuando el río suena, piedras lleva" — a Colombian proverb says that the river > always carries something with it: stones, sediment, objects, memories. What waters flow through our veins? Who are we in relation to the river? These questions have given rise to a workshop that invites us to think of the river as an extension of each of us: a space where memories, emotions and personal traces converge. The workshop is open to everyone, even those who have never drawn before. The focus is on the creative process, not on technique. Each participant will create a postcard as a fragment of their own “tributary”: a memory of a place on the other side, a message, a presence in absence. Exhibition and live music — "CORSO"}} Ridicola is hosting an exhibition of Soma’s printed works, which runs until September. Live music performances are scheduled for the opening day. Creating murals — "FOCE"}} The AFLUENTES project along the River Po concludes with the creation of a mural at the Beeozanam space, as a permanent gesture that captures and reflects the flows it has encountered. Further details are currently being finalized. {{/accordion}} About the artist Laura Ortiz "Soma" is an artist and illustrator from Bogotá. Her artistic journey has led her, through muralism and drawing, to explore different regions and landscapes in Colombia and around the world, inspiring her to pursue a practice based on careful observation: depicting people’s trades, their customs and her reflections on the places she knows. She is also interested in eliciting different interpretations from the viewer through symbolism and pictorial parallels. Since 2016, he has been involved in various mural projects in Colombia and around the world, and has taken part in solo and group exhibitions. In his independent work, he is also noted for his support of social projects and other causes.
